FEE SCHEDULE
Regarding the per diem: The per diem charge is just that, a charge for
a day. A day for a hearing or mediation is not always nine to five,
Monday through Friday, sometimes it is longer and sometimes it is
shorter and sometimes it is off-hours or on a weekend.
If the parties have witnesses waiting to be heard, the arbitrator will
generally stay until the witnesses are heard.
Per Diem Fee
Labor - matters pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement:
$1,000 per diem for grievance arbitration, interest arbitration, contract
mediation,and grievance mediation.
Employment - matters pursuant to an employment contract or
arbitration agreement where the employee is not covered by a
collective bargaining agreement is charged at the rate of $250.00 per
hour.
Mediation - civil cases are charged at the rate of $250.00 per hour.
Cancellation/Postponement Fee
Per diem fee if the hearing is cancelled or postponed less than fifteen
(15) days prior to the scheduled hearing date. Half per diem if the
hearing is cancelled or postponed less than thirty days but more than
fifteen prior to the scheduled hearing date.
Docketing Fee
No docketing fee is charged.
Travel Expenses
Chicago Metropolitan Area:
No charge for travel within the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area.
Outside Chicago Metropolitan Area:
Reasonable travel expenses including transportation, meals and
lodging will be charged for travel outside the Greater Chicago
Metropolitan Area. Such charges will be only at the rate at which the
expenses were actually incurred for airfare, taxi and/or rental car and
lodging. Actual travel time outside the Chicago metropolitan will be a
prorated per diem. Personal auto travel outside the greater Chicago
Metropolitan Area will be charged at the current IRS rate.
Office Expenses
Normal Office Expenses:
No charge for normal office expenses. (e.g. copying, postage and
telephone )
Extraordinary Office Expenses:
Extraordinary office expenses (e.g. overnight mail at the parties
request) will be charged to the parties only at the rate at which the
expenses were incurred.
